So many stories of great individual heroism from that (and other) war.
Shipdham Airfield is about six miles from where I live now. Although a flying club still operates from there, much of the area is now a small industrial estate. This whole region was closely associated with the USAF and RAF during WW2, and we still have RAF Marham close by.
